Otterburn Mill welcomes coaches and groups and is working in conjunction with the CDC for the 2012 season, and offers driver and tour guide incentives.
Conveniently located just off the Main A68 route to Scotland, 25 miles north of Newcastle airport, and in breathtaking scenery, Otterburn Mill offers visitors a warm Northumberland welcome.
The Mill has free coach parking and convenient drop off facilities. All facilities are on one level, making it wheelchair friendly.
The mill has a rich heritage, reflecting the rise and passing of the industrial revolution. The main mill buildings date back to the mid 18th century, when Otterburn was a thriving woollen mill. The mill is home to the world famous Otterburn Baby Rug, which was created in response to a request from Buckingham Palace following the birth of Pricess Elizabeth (our current monarch).
The redeveloped site now boasts a spacious 6,500 sq ft of shopping, selling an extensive range of Otterburn Classics and outdoor brands, situated inside the original weaving sheds where visitors can view some of the mill's machinery.
The 100 seater coffee shop serves hot and cold meals and refreshments, and all facilities are easily accessible on one level. For those wishing to stretch their legs there are scenic river strolls, and a delightful trail walk (approx. 2 hrs).
The perfect blend of shopping, heritage, scenery and refreshment.
