Otterburn nestles in the Border Hills of Northumberland, alongside the River Rede which powered Otterburn Mill for well over two centuries.
For many years the Mill prepared wool for hand spinning in cottages and farms.
In 1821 the first William Waddell moved from Bedrule near Jedburgh and took over the mill, where he gradually added the manufacture of Tweeds, Rugs and Blankets.
