Otterburn Mill Shops
At Otterburn Mill, we have two shops selling outdoor and country clothing. Our largest shop is located in Otterburn (along with Rena’s Country Kitchen). Our second shop is in the village of Rothbury, approximately 15 miles from Otterburn.
Our two shops, at Otterburn and Rothbury, both sell a wide range of outdoor, country and leisure clothing, with brands such as Regatta, Craghoppers, Hoggs of Fife, Joules and Barbour. Our shops also feature our range of rugs and throws including the famous Otterburn Mill Pram Rugs, which are still made in the UK. As well as this, we offer a range of pet products and dogs are welcome in both shops.
Located in the old mill buildings, remnants of industrial machinery can still be seen throughout our shop at Otterburn. Otterburn Mill was a thriving textile mill from 1821, and the Waddell family developed the business throughout the years. ‘Otterburn’ products became a firm favourite around the world, even with the Royal Family. Our products today reflect the area in which we are based, and our selection of outdoor and country clothing caters for all budgets. You’ll find everything you need for your outdoor adventures at Otterburn Mill.
A Place By The Mill Gift Shop
Since 2022, A Place By The Mill Gift Shop has been located at Otterburn Mill. The independent business was established by local resident, Marion, and the shop sells homeware and gifts. Located in what would have been the drying house, when Otterburn Mill was a working textile mill, the small shop sells everything from vases, mugs, cushions and greetings cards. Affordable decorative accessories adorn the shelves, making it well worth a visit when you’re on an outing to Otterburn Mill.
Every product in the shop is handpicked by Marion, and her keen eye for style ensures that everything in the range is chic and stylish. Marion also supports other small businesses by featuring the work of local craftspeople within the gift shop, including locally made jewellery.
At Otterburn Mill we’re eager to support small start up businesses which led us to offer the space as a retail outlet to a local business. A Place By The Mill Gift Shop is open Monday – Friday, 10am – 2pm. As the business is a small independent business, these opening hours and days may occasionally vary.
